Environmental Impact Management

In accordance with the provisions set forth in Government Regulation No. 22 of 2021 and Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 4 of 2021, PT Ifishdeco Tbk (“the Company”), as a mining entity, has developed an Environmental Impact Assessment (AMDAL) document. The AMDAL is an essential document for evaluating and identifying the environmental impacts resulting from mining operations. These activities encompass exploration, mining operations, transportation and sales, as well as post-mining activities.

The Company is fully committed to addressing and mitigating the environmental impacts outlined in the AMDAL, which includes the Environmental Management and Monitoring Plans (RKL and RPL) throughout the stages of pre-construction, construction, operation, and post-mining, with due consideration to geophysical aspects, biodiversity, socio-economic factors, and cultural impacts.

The Company consistently conducts monitoring and long-term evaluations of the environmental impacts of its mining operations, involving local communities, both central and local governments, and other relevant authorities. Efforts in managing and monitoring environmental impacts include, but are not limited to:

Geo-Physical-Chemical Components

1. Soil Fertility, Reclamation, and Biodiversity Management and Monitoring
Soil fertility monitoring is carried out in accordance with the Environmental Monitoring Plan (RPL). Soil samples are taken by the Company at predetermined monitoring points using drilling techniques with a hand drill or hoe at depths of 10cm to 20cm and 20cm to 40cm. The parameters monitored include soil pH (H2O), pH (KCL), organic carbon, available phosphorus (P), potassium (K), sodium (Na), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), texture, and erosion.

2. Air Quality Management and Monitoring
Air quality monitoring is conducted once every 6 months in compliance with applicable regulations. Gas samples are taken using an impinger with a gas sampler and are then analyzed by colorimetric methods. Dust monitoring is carried out using a high-volume air sampler, followed by gravimetric analysis.

3. Noise and Vibration Monitoring
Monitoring of heavy equipment activities is conducted to assess the noise levels generated from overburden removal, excavation, and nickel ore extraction to ensure compliance with established threshold limits. The quality standards used are in accordance with the Ministry of Environment Decree No. 48/MENLH/11/1996, which sets the noise limit at 70 dBA in industrial areas and 55 dBA in residential areas. Routine monitoring of slope stability and increased soil erosion in open land is carried out throughout the mining operations.

4. Water Quality Management and Monitoring
Water quality monitoring in sedimentation ponds and rivers is conducted during the submission of RPL and RKL reports every 6 months. The parameters monitored are adjusted to environmental components, including pH, dissolved oxygen (DO), turbidity, alkalinity, temperature, and color.

5. Waste Management, Hazardous and Toxic Materials (B3), and B3 Waste
The Company has obtained a Temporary Storage Facility (TPS) permit before sending waste to third parties. The TPS is located in the workshop area covering 0.5 hectares (ha), with a facility divided according to the type of waste, in compliance with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 12 of 2020 on the Storage of Hazardous and Toxic Waste (B3).

Biodiversity Components

The Company’s concession area is not situated within a designated nature conservation zone. However, mining operations continue to have an impact, posing risks to the decline of both natural vegetation and community-cultivated crops. Consequently, the Company is committed to continuously monitoring and evaluating biodiversity, in collaboration with local authorities and other relevant agencies. Several areas have been converted into ponds to restore aquatic flora habitats, and land reclamation efforts are being undertaken through revegetation with species such as cashew, mahogany, acacia, coconut wood, and other similar varieties.

Socio-Economic-Cultural Components

The Company is fully committed to fostering social, economic, and cultural development, particularly for the local communities impacted by its business operations. This commitment is reflected in various initiatives, including the establishment of constructive communication channels with local communities, providing employment opportunities within the Company, developing infrastructure such as places of worship and educational institutions, extending financial support for social welfare and education, and promoting local Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Through these endeavors, the Company aims to significantly improve the welfare and quality of life of the local communities.

Public Health Components

The Company is dedicated to preserving the health and well-being of both the local community and its employees as a consequence of its mining operations. The measures implemented include the management and monitoring of water and air quality, providing financial support for community health initiatives, conducting regular health check-ups for employees, and promoting health awareness programs.

Monitoring results are submitted on a regular basis to the relevant authorities, ensuring that the health impacts on the surrounding communities are effectively managed and mitigated throughout the duration of the Company’s activities.

Land Reclamation

In compliance with the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Decree No. 1827 K/30/MEM/2018 concerning the Guidelines for the Implementation of Good Mining Practice, PT Ifishdeco Tbk (the “Company”) has developed a comprehensive vegetation reclamation plan, which is periodically reported. Reclamation activities are undertaken when land that has undergone mining operations is no longer in active use.

These activities are conducted in phases, in alignment with the designated land usage and area as stipulated in the Reclamation Plan, which has been duly approved by the relevant government authorities. Furthermore, the Company has established a reclamation guarantee as part of its commitment to ensuring the proper execution of reclamation efforts. The selection of vegetation for reclamation activities has been carefully tailored to the specific conditions of the soil, water, and air quality of the area.

Post Mining

PT Ifishdeco Tbk (“the Company”) has placed post-mining guarantees as a form of commitment in the implementation of its post-mining program. This refers to the Company’s post-mining plan document as outlined in the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree Number 1827.K/30/MEM/2018 on Guidelines for the Implementation of Good Mining Practices.

Regarding the post-mining land, the Company’s area is planned to be returned to the Company’s Business Use Rights (HGU) with the commodity being cashew nut plantations, interspersed with the planting of productive crops in accordance with agreements between the government and the community, as well as revegetation activities involving the surrounding community. The Company will also implement a community development program that provides economic and social value for the local community, which is expected to offer benefits from environmental, economic, and social aspects in a sustainable manner.
